For many years Blackboard Artworx mainly supplied the hospitality industry with blackboard, coloured, sealed chalk art menus and signs. However, in recent years painted and/or penned wedding and event blackboards have come to the forefront in a major way!!!!
Not only those white on black, vintage style chalkboards, but colour versions too. Requests for wedding signs trimmed with lace, flowers, wreaths and buntings are received, often. Their purpose? Most requests for for wedding welcome signs, something pretty to greet guests and let them know they’re in the right place. They also make a great keepsake. And, then there’s the seating arrangements. Possibly not enough seats at the ceremony, wedding chair signs and the all important reception seating plans/charts. The old ‘pick a seat not a side’ is a very popular choice too.
Of course not every wedding is the same though, so sometimes the harshness of black doesn’t suit. Occasionally couples order different colour combos such as white or gold on navy blue, or a steel grey background for their wedding signs.
For an even softer effect, my personal favourite would have to be delicateness of watercolour on white, or distressed white. Like all Blackboard Artworx signs, these are also sealed making them perfect to keep as a memento.
This technique lends itself perfectly to any soft, romantic styling! I do love me a stained plywood sign! There is just something special about the natural grain of timber and if the theme suits, I feel that it shows off the colours of the wording and decorative elements, perfectly.
So, when you read the words Blackboard Artworx, remember it’s not all about blackboards.
